Introduction

Congratulations on successfully obtaining approval of your Commonwealth Community Compact.  You are receiving this survey because you chose as one of your best practices Regional/Shared Services.

CMRPC proposes to work with the towns in our region that have indicated a desire to regionalize or share services as a way to create service improvements, create productive partnerships, and realize cost efficiencies.  The following strategy will be employed to most effectively assist the towns collectively.

1.       CMRPC will develop a survey of community leaders and town executives to gauge interest and to assess each town's preference and/or opportunities for regionalization or shared services

2.       CMRPC will then analyze and summarize the survey

3.       CMRPC will research successful models that might address the identified areas of desired regionalization/shared services.

4.      Working with the participating communities will work to develop a set of recommendations for each town.

5.       CMRPC will work with participating communities and other to draft Memorandums of Understanding, formalize partnership agreements, draft requests for proposals and other appropriate tools that lead to successful regional solutions to identified challenges.

We believe there is tremendous value in collaborative problem solving and while many of the tasks above will happen with each specific town, joint strategy and sharing meetings are planned for the communities to share their challenges and problem solve together.

The survey is short.  Please complete the survey by March 11 including your availability to attend a meeting of the participating towns.

Thanks again for pursuing municipal collaboration.  CMRPC is eager to help.
