Club Leader Memorandum of Understanding

University of South Carolina Alumni Association Mission Statement: Add Value to Students. Engage Our Alumni. Build the Brand.

UofSC alumni chapters exist to connect alumni, promote the University of South Carolina Alumni Association around the world and to strengthen ties between alumni and their communities.

All club leaders must submit this Memorandum of Understanding every year to be eligible for official UofSC Alumni Association recognition and receive support and services from the Alumni Association.

Question Title

* 1. As a club leader, on behalf of the local club, I agree to represent the University of South Carolina Alumni Association in the following ways:

Be aligned with the UofSC Alumni Association mission and vision statements.

Maintain a current membership with the alumni association.

Provide programming for diverse interests and age groups.

Fulfill the expectations of the club to the best of my ability.

Preserve the brand of UofSC and the alumni association in all communication.

Use listserv communication and alumni data appropriately.

Maintain the activity of the club's Facebook page or group, Twitter account, Instagram account, and other social media outlets.

Allow the UofSC Alumni Association staff to be an administrator on the Facebook page or group and other social media platforms maintained for official club promotion if applicable (Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)

Assist in the transition of the next club leadership.

Treat fellow volunteers and staff with respect and honor at all times.

* 2. As an official club leader, I agree to the following:

I have read the Club Handbook in full, and I agree to follow the regulations and expectations described within.

I agree to carry out the UofSC Alumni Association mission in the ways outlined above.

I recognize that the UofSC Alumni Association may replace any club volunteer at any time if necessary in order to best serve the mission statement listed above.

* 3. The UofSC Alumni Association staff members will provide resources and support to volunteers and chapters as they are able, and as outlined in the official Club Handbook. As an official club leader, I understand the following:

The alumni club staff will provide training to club leaders.

The alumni club staff will support all events and activities by sending supplies and promotional emails for events that are planned within the time frame appropriate for event success.

The alumni club staff will provide annual funding as designated per club location and alumni population.

The alumni club staff will manage the official web page for each chartered club.

The alumni club staff will supply a club logo that is trademark compliant.

The alumni club staff will communicate with club leaders regularly with important information, opportunities and resources.

The alumni club staff will provide access to a Facebook network of fellow club leaders.

The alumni club staff will send out communication via email to alumni in the area at the request of club coordinating committee members.

The alumni club staff liaison will facilitate all financial transactions on behalf of the local club.
