Resources for teaching climate in the classroom

Tuesday, May 9, 4pm to 4:45pm Mountain Time

Join MSU Extended University and the Montana Institute on Ecosystems (IoE) for an overview of climate science resources available to Montana educators. In this interactive presentation, K-12 teachers and out-of-school educators will learn about the Montana Climate Assessment (scheduled for release in August 2017) and the CLiMB (Climate In My Backyard) educational outreach program that will help teachers bring climate science into the classroom. Feel free to bring your thoughts and ideas on teaching climate science and how the Montana Climate Assessment (MCA) could be used in K-12 education. [Note that this presentation includes mainly resources that were presented at a December 2016 Webinar of the same name. A few new resources will be presented.]

We will be giving away two sets of classroom resources to teachers who participate in the live event! The session will be recorded for those who cannot attend live. (Educators must be at the live event to enter the drawing.)

The Montana Institute on Ecosystems is a community of scientists and partners that studies Montana’s complex ecosystems, including the impacts of climate change on ecosystems and the ways in which people and nature are interconnected. Formed in 2011 with funding from the National Science Foundation’s EPSCoR program, the IoE has offices at Montana State University and the University of Montana. Partners are located at other Montana University System campuses and Montana tribal colleges.

Thank you for registering for Climate Science Resources for Educators, an online presentation on Thursday, Dec. 8 at 4pm Mountain Time.
