CHIP Advisor Program Description

PURPOSE:

The primary goal of the CHIP Advisor Program is to enhance CHIP compliance and outcomes by incorporating alumni oversight and technical assistance while allowing an opportunity for HCEP alumni to have a more meaningful and continuing role in the HCEP.


PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:
  • CHIP Advisors are required to participate in the 2016 HCEP Program on July 15, 2016 (Airfare, lodging for 2 nights and meal expenses are covered by the UCLA/J&J HCEP)
  • Advisors must arrive the evening before to attend a one-hour briefing after dinner on their role.
  • Each CHIP Advisor will be assigned to a learning group of 6-7 participants during the 2016 HCEP summer program.
  • CHIP Advisors will provide feedback to each member of their learning group on their final CHIP presentations.
  • Each CHIP Advisor must present their completed CHIP during a poster session on July 15, 2016. (Poster template will be provided)
  • Serve as CHIP Advisor for a period of one year, to begin on July 15, 2016. CHIP Advisors must conduct quarterly check-in calls with each of their advisees (approx. 6 total) to follow-up on their CHIP projects.
  • Provide a brief report to UCLA on their experience after one year. (Report template will be provided)


CHIP ADVISOR CRITERIA:

1. Willingness to travel to Los Angeles to participate in the 2016 HCEP Program.

2. Willingness to serve as CHIP Advisor for the period of one year, beginning July 15, 2016.

3. Demonstrated understanding of the CHIP architecture.

4. Completion or near completion of their own CHIP that was conceived during attendance of the HCEP program, CHIP cannot still be In Progress.

5. Completed CHIP should have demonstrated impact, with measurable outcomes (recommended).

6. Be able to communicate clearly and positively.

7. Provide consistent follow up support and guidance.

 
CHIP COMPENSATION:

CHIP advisors will receive a $1,000 stipend for their participation in the program.
