Welcome to this survey on civil society space for children. This survey is part of a larger project, building on the existing work of CIVICUS and Save the Children, to assess the environment in which child and adult-led organisations working for children's rights operate. The objective of this project, which will feed into a published paper and complementary advocacy, is to widen understanding of the issues confronting groups - both child and adult led - who promote and advocate for children's rights by consulting with them about the restrictions they face and the strategies they employ to sustain their space to operate.

To further inform our work in this area, Save the Children and the Centre for Children’s Rights at Queen’s University in Belfast are also conducting research with children themselves on how they experience their civil rights and freedoms and what barriers stand in the way of exercising these rights more fully.

In the first part of the survey we will ask some questions about you, secondly we will ask about the conditions and health of civil society in general and for child and adult groups promoting children's rights in particular in your country. Finally, we will ask you for your recommendations on how to create and maintain space for civil society.

The survey is comprised of 20 questions. It should not take more than 10 minutes. If you have any problems submitting your information, please contact: tor.hodenfield@civicus.org.
