CHANGES is pleased to announce its scholarship program for 2019. A number of scholarship opportunities are available to Victorians to attend the annual forward thinking event in July this year. CHANGES (July 3 & 4) will feature two jam-packed days of keynote presentations, meeting opportunities, practical workshops and intimate masterclasses. It offers the opportunity to exchange ideas, make new connections and support each other’s professional development. From artists and managers, labels and journalists, festivals and start-ups to policy-makers and music activists, CHANGES covers every inch of the music industry. More than 40 scholarship placements will be made available to participants in the following categories:
Music Under Wings – Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarship
The Music Under Wings scholarship will be awarded to ten (10) individuals of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island descent. Applications may be made by not only artists but also industry practitioners working in a variety of fields in creative industries. There are no age restrictions for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander scholarship program however applicants must reside in Victoria. Winners will receive a full festival pass to CHANGES as well as financial support for travel to and from the conference if required to the value of a vline/myki ticket. Participants will be encouraged to apply for further workshop and special meeting opportunities.
Music Under Wings – Regional Participation Scholarship
The Music Under Wings scholarship will be awarded to ten (10) individuals who reside in regional Victoria. Applications may be made by not only artists but also industry practitioners working in a variety of fields in creative industries. There are no age restrictions for the Regional participation scholarship however applicants must reside in rural or regional Victoria. Winners will receive a full festival pass to CHANGES as well as financial support for travel to and from the conference if required to the value of a v-line ticket.
FReeZA Scholarship - Scholarship for young people involved with FReeZA
The scholarships are for young people who have participated in the FReeZA Program and are committed to developing a career in the contemporary music and entertainment sectors. Applications are open to people who have had an active involvement in FReeZA and have already demonstrated the steps they are taking toward pathways into employment in the music and entertainment sectors. Applicants may be musicians performing at FReeZA events, young people on FReeZA Committees, or involved in other ways in their local community. Applicants should be under the age of 25. Winners will receive a full festival pass to CHANGES as well as financial support for travel to and from the conference if required to the value of a v-line ticket. FReeZA Scholarship winners will also be provided with a ‘Plan your career’ one on one meeting with an industry professional.
