EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST TO PRESENT AT THE 2018 SYMPOSIUM
The Academy Executive is calling for presentations to the 10th annual Symposium of the Academy. The symposium includes the conferenceTalking Teaching 2018: Engaging Teaching, Inspiring Learning. Presentation proposals are due by 3 August 2018. Contribution call extended by one week - now due by 17 August!
Conference Focus
The Ako Aotearoa Academy of Tertiary Teaching Excellence is proud to present three days of Talking Teaching 2018 - Engaging Teaching, Inspiring Learning. Our tenth annual symposium will take place at the state-of-the-art Engineering Facility at the University of Canterbury, Christchurch. It will open with an Academy-only day (28 Nov) in which we will welcome new members and invite all members to discuss the future of our organisation, as well as the opportunities to learn from each other and catch up with old friends that we look forward to. Days two and three (29 - 30 Nov) will be open to teachers, academic developers, educational leaders, and others, from around New Zealand, collaborating and contributing to a stimulating exchange of ideas and tips for the teacher’s toolkit. Attendees can expect a mix of oral presentations, panel presentations, small group debate and discussion, workshops and knowledge cafes, as well as innovative contributions that defy easy classification. We shall close with the traditional Academy Hour(s).
This conference is for everyone working in the tertiary sector, irrespective of their particular roles, and relevant to Universities, ITPs, ITOs, ACE, PTEs, REAPs and Wānanga.
Call for Presentations
The committee welcomes contributors to share their unique stories and experiences on any topic concerning inspirational and engaging tertiary teaching practice and scholarship. Academy members may choose to present on the Academy-only day (28 Nov) or at Talking Teaching (29 & 30 Nov). Consistent with the conference theme, we welcome inspiring and engaging contributions of all kinds. Submissions are due by 3 August 2018 17 August 2018.
