Introduction

The Wandsworth Carers Strategy 2009-2014 was developed by listening to Carers and Young Carers and collating feedback from professionals.  Professionals and Carers then worked together to identify a set of Quality Markers, setting out how Wandsworth Council, NHS Wandsworth, Community Services Wandsworth, the Voluntary Sector, Job Centre Plus and other partners would provide and develop services and support to Carers and Young Carers over five years. The five year period is now over, and so Wandsworth Carers' Centre is helping the council review the Strategy and set priorities for the next one.

In this survey we want you to feed back on each Quality Marker and tell us how far you think it has been achieved, by marking it RED, AMBER or GREEN.

RED: No improvement
AMBER: Some improvement
GREEN: Significant improvement

There are also a couple of questions about your priorities for the new Strategy, as well as questions about how the Strategy should be monitored and held accountable.  Please bear in mind that you are rating all services for Carers in Wandsworth.  If you want to make any comments about a service in particular, you can use the free text box provided after each Quality Marker.

Question Title

* 17. Once the Carers' Strategy Review is complete we will be developing a new Strategy. We want Carers views on how best to monitor progress of the new Strategy and how to hold Wandsworth Council and relevant partners accountable for delivering the action plan. One way that has worked elsewhere is for a small group of Carers to review the Strategy on a bi-monthly basis and to update a wider group of Carers, as well as get their feedback, through a regular Carers’ Forum which would be held quarterly.

The proposed format for a Carers’ Forum would be a two/two and half hour meeting which would allow information/updates to be disseminated to Carers and for Carers to raise issues of their own, this would also include lunch and a period of at least 45 minutes for Carers to network and share issues.

Please tell us what you think about this in the questions below:

Would you come to a regular Carers' Forum held at the Town Hall or another location?
