• Understand scanning planes
• Understand intra-cardiac pressure and why the heart looks like it does in sickness and in health
• How and when to make measurements when performing an echocardiogram and what they mean
• How to recognize acquired canine and feline heart diseases on an echocardiogram
• How and when to use Doppler echocardiography
