Through our Collaboration for Impact partnership, Council has set aside some budget for the delivery of training to help strengthen the capacity of CI member groups to deliver valued environmental services to the Waverley community. Good governance leads to positive committee member experience, proper management of conflicts of interest and risk, good understanding and planning for financial control and an organisation that thrives even through adversity. Changeology: Learn how to devise behaviour change projects that are buzzworthy, fun, game-like, and social, so people want to "come and play". Committee Participatory Skills: Learn how to embed effective participation in planning processes. This session is aimed at organisations that are part of advisory committees and are looking to maximise their input, valuable time and help them gain value from being part of a committee. Strategic Planning: A good strategic plan is a logical map of where your organisation is now, where it needs to go and how it will get there. It s used to set priorities, focus energy and resources, strengthen operations and lead the team towards the common goal. This session will help your organisation to understand about the planning process and the importance of this preparation to take your organisation in a clear and defined direction without becoming side-tracked. Financial capability: Budgets are simply what is going to cost to achieve your annual plan. They help measure aspects of your groups' performance. This session is designed to help you understand budgeting and its associated processes. Project management essentials: Every successful program or project is based on great design and loads of planning. Learn about project planning, how to avoid common project plan faults and maximise your resources and chance of success through proper project planing. This session will alos help you have a solid base for your grant applications so funders can see everything is ready to go. Basics of business development for non-for-profits: Learn the basics of business development for your organisation. Attracting and recruiting volunteers: Attracting volunteers is an important part of non-for profit groups/organisations. This session s designed to learn what community groups really need to move their organisations in the right discretion. It will focus on identifynh volunteer needs and creating a plan to fulfill these. It will help you maximise engagement with potential volunteers in any setting, and be able to promote the organisation and potential volunteering opportunities. Running a successful committee meeting: This session will assists you to have productive meetings where everyone feels like they have contributed, achieved the task required, want to return again and importantly, be willing to recommend people they know to join in. Evaluating Projects and programs: This session will provide you with the tools to help you decide how you will conduct your program evaluation and articulate to your members and funders the impact your project has had on teh community. Successful grant writing: This session will help the application process and assist the organisation to explore additional funding alternatives for long-term sustainability. Communication and conflict management skills: This session will provide you with the foundations for creating an inclusive and productive group culture. It will help participants to prepare a plan that will help prevent and mitigate potential conflicts through positive culture, improved communication, good policy and processes and early intervention.
