Scholarship Guidelines

  1. Criteria for scholarships: Member or former member of Calvary Baptist Church or applicants whose church of origin when beginning ministry preparation was Calvary. Preference will be given to active members.
    - Evidence of genuine conversion and in many cases a definite call to vocational Christian service
    - Evidence of financial need
    - Age shall not be a factor in considering applications
  2. Classifications of applicants to be considered:
    - Students enrolled in seminary to complete basic seminary degree (M.Div., M.Re., M.Cm., etc.)
    - Students pursuing graduate work beyond seminary requiring a seminary degree or its equivalent
    - Students involved in post-college specialized training for work in fields such as evangelism, missions, or church ministries
    - Undergraduate college students who meet the requirements for one of Calvary's scholarship funds
  3. Each applicant must submit an application to the Scholarship Committee for each semester of school. Scholarships are awarded on a semester basis.
  4. The student must maintain a “C” or better average at an accredited school. The student will be requested to furnish his grades from the previous term.
  5. The student may be called in for an interview at the request of the Scholarship Committee.
  6. The Committee reserves the right to withdraw the unused portion of any scholarship grant upon dismissal or withdrawal from the designated school, or in the event of any significant change in moral, academic, or spiritual commitment.
