Propose a talk for the RCEM Annual Conference 2027 | Manchester Central Convention Complex | 13 - 15 April

We are excited to announce the open call for talk proposals for the Annual Conference 2027. The conference takes place at the Manchester Central Convention Complex, 13 - 15 April 2027.

All speakers will be expected to attend in-person to deliver their talk, and will be able to claim expenses in line with our standard speaker expense policy.

Proposed talks may be given a contested speaking slot in the programme, a breaktime exhibition talk, or an alternative opportunity to present. By submitting a proposed talk, you are not guaranteed attendance or a speaking slot.

Please note, this open call for talks is separate to the call for abstract submissions which will open in the coming weeks. Abstract submissions focus on research work, quality improvement projects and case reports. Please do not submit a talk that covers these areas as it will be rejected.

We are specifically looking for talks covering the following themes, however if you wish to propose something which sits outside of these are you are welcome to do so:


- Adolescence
- Career pathways
- Core EM: Common presentations/uncommon challenges, diagnostic dilemmas etc
- EDI and neurodiversity: Patients and colleagues
- Effective sim
- EM within the community
- Emerging skills
- Ethical challenges
- Flow
- Global EM
- Learning
- Mental health
- Military and conflict medicine
- Older adults
- PEM
- Rare, exotic and unexpected emergencies
- Trauma

By submitting a proposed talk you are not guaranteed attendance or a presentation slot at the flagship conference. You will hear from the RCEM Events Team about the outcome of your submission by 30 September. If you haven't heard anything by this date, then please contact events@rcem.ac.uk.

All submissions will be reviewed by the Programme Planning Group. They will consider whether the content aligns with themes that have emerged during their programme planning and the programme strategy.
