More on the California/Victory Park neighborhood plan.

Louisville Metro Government has begun the process for developing a new neighborhood plan for the California/Victory Park neighborhood. The plan area focuses on the California and Victory Park areas from West Broadway to the north, Oak Street to the south, 9th Street to the east, and 26th Street to the west.

Initiated by Councilman David James, the planning process is being managed by Louisville Forward’s Office of Advanced Planning and completed by a team including: neighborhood residents, an advisory group, paid consultants, city staff and officials. The team of local neighborhood planning consultants includes Gresham Smith & Partners, Center For Neighborhoods, and Booker Design Collaborative. The process is expected to take 9-12 months to complete. This survey will kick off the initial 2-3 month process of inclusive community engagement. Over the first few months, Metro staff and the consultant team will be focused on neighborhood outreach to encourage community participation in the planning process.

A Neighborhood Plan is a process that creates a document that:
   Studies a neighborhood or area,
Articulates the vision for the neighborhood now and in the future, and
Creates a set of recommendations (or action steps) for achieving that vision.

By choosing to participate, California and Victory Park residents and stakeholders will have an active voice in creating the vision for the future.  Thank you for sharing your input!
