Burrillville: Renewable Energy Survey

Renewable Energy, such as solar and wind power generation, can play an important role in providing energy in Burrillville and reducing our dependence on fossil fuels. The Town of Burrillville wants to be supportive of renewable energy, but in a way that makes sense for us. 

Please help the Town by answering a few questions about Renewable Energy.
Please also help us by submitting no more than one response per household!
1.The Town currently allows small-scale solar energy facilities (for example, on roofs or in the yards of a private home or business) anywhere in Burrillville. How do you feel about this policy?
2.What are your concerns about larger-scale solar energy facilities (for example, a standalone “solar farm”) in Burrillville (pick all that apply)?
3.The Town currently allows larger-scale solar energy facilities only in the Village Commercial, General Commercial, and General Industrial parts of town. These can cover only up to 20% of any given parcel (up to 15 acres of land).

How would you feel about allowing larger-scale solar energy facilities outside these areas (which could be on or near residential or rural zoned land), but only on former industrial sites, gravel pits, landfills, and other distressed or already disturbed properties?
