On May 17-18, 2017, VA will host the second annual Brain Trust: Pathways to InnoVAtion event in Boston, MA.  The event will include opportunities for teams from the private sector, non-profit, or academia to demo their solutions on day 2 of the event. Each presenter will have 12-minutes to present a demo of their solution in front of a panel of VA senior leaders, Subject Matter Experts, and Veterans. At the end of the day, the top presenters will be awarded 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place honors and the winners will have a potential opportunity to implement and deploy their innovations at the VA to serve Veterans and their families. Selected innovations will focus on technologies to improve the lives of people with TBI and/or PTSD; demos will be presented for viewing and demonstration to more than 300 Veterans & caregivers as well as representatives from the public and private sectors. 
 
Demos for the selected innovations will be incorporated into the Brain Trust agenda in 5-12 minute allotments.  
 
Innovations will be selected after undergoing a balanced evaluation across the following criteria:
- Potential contribution to the improvement of patient outcomes and lifestyle
- Product or service is Veteran-centric in design and/or approach
- Quality of efficacy data for the product and/or service
- Potential for diffusion across multiple VA medical facilities
- Creativity and Innovation
- Suitability for Event Format
 
Those innovations that are selected will receive invitations to attend Brain Trust in Boston and present the innovation to event participants.  Please note: Travel funds will not be provided for those innovations that are selected.
