Introduction

The City of Bethlehem and the Bethlehem Parking Authority have hired a consultant to conduct a comprehensive review and assessment of public parking in the City. This assessment will lead to the development of recommendations for improving the operations, management and maintenance of public parking in Bethlehem over both the short- (2-3 years) and long-term (10 years).

The two study areas for this assignment encompass all of the public parking in the downtown retail and commercial districts on both the north and south sides of the Lehigh River, as well as the surface parking lots associated with SteelStacks.

This study will include a review of existing parking, a projection of future parking demand based on anticipated development, short- and long-term strategies to address parking availability within the study area, and recommendations for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the City’s parking operation.
