Codify land use practices, such as smaller blocks, smaller lot size requirements, and reduced setbacks, to accommodate walking and cycling in the zoning and subdivision ordinances.

Minimize the impact of surface parking by requiring the location of surface parking lots towards the back or to the side of the property.

Catalog city-wide sidewalk condition and prioritize reinvestment areas of greatest need.

Include sidewalks and bicycle facilities in new subdivision development

Prioritize the bike-pedestrian connections between the River Center to downtown, and Tyndall Park/Benton school campus to downtown.

Invest in a system of way-finding signs and maps to help walkers and bikers to identify routes to important destinations around the city.

Partner with utility companies to utilize their easements for new trails.

Increase the accessibility and connectivity of the existing street network to improve access to public facilities.

The Master Street Plan will contain recommended street designs to include sidewalks and bicycle facilities in the design of roadways.
