On SEPTEMBER 1st and 2nd

tawâw kahkiyaw! Come and learn basic conversational nêhiyawêwin! We’ll focus on the sounds and letters in SRO first and then learn how to introduce ourselves and hold a simple conversation. Resources will be provided for practicing at home.

My nêhiyawi-wîhowin is shooting star, but I also go by Britt or Damion. I’m a tastawiyiniw (2s) nêhiyaw, RRM (and Scottish) knowledge keeper and land-based educator. I’ve been reclaiming my language for almost 2 years.

WHO CAN ATTEND?
  • 2SLGBTQ+ youth and allied youth (a friend!)
  • Youth between the ages of 10 - 21
