Welcome to the 2021 BC Parent COVID-19 Response Survey!

Different languages are available at the TOP RIGHT of the page.

Purpose
: The 2021 BC Parent Survey was developed by parents for parents. The purpose of this survey is to gather current data regarding the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in BC on families with children aged 0 to 18, inclusive. The survey considers your experience with the school and childcare systems (public and private), especially since September 2020, as well as aspects of social wellness, access to healthcare, and extracurricular activities. Aggregated data, analysis from our survey, and the descriptive information from the results, will be openly provided on the www.bcparentinfo.com website. Other clinicians, researchers, and experts in British Columbia, and beyond, will be able to access and utilize the data to help us further understand the impacts of COVID-19. The results may inform the development of current safety plans for BC schools and childcare settings, and may provide important insight for future pandemic planning.

ALL SURVEY RESULTS WILL BE ANONYMOUS AND NOT LINKABLE TO ANY INDIVIDUAL.

BC Parent Survey Team: Our team is comprised of citizens from BC who have come together to create an open access data set and analyses to learn more about COVID-19, school, and children. In addition, we were supported by third-party reviewers who provided valuable input to shape the survey. You can learn more about the data we are collecting, and our plan for the data analyses, here.

Additional Resources: Please note that our website also contains other resources, including, peer-reviewed and non-peer-reviewed articles related to COVID-19, school, and children. Our goal is to make such information more easily accessible to parents within BC, and we will be regularly updating with scientific findings. Please contact us if you have new research you would like us to add.

Contact: If you have any questions or would like more information, you can contact our research consultant, Crystal Mundy, at bcparentsurvey@gmail.com. We are happy to answer any questions prior to survey involvement.
Participants: The survey may be completed by BC parents of infants, pre-schoolers, and school-aged children. This includes parents who are also teachers or who work in the BC school system.

Procedures: The survey should take roughly 15 - 25 minutes to complete, depending on the number of children in your household. One of our team members would be happy to meet with you by phone or video conference and conduct the survey verbally if that is easier. We have translated the survey into some common languages of British Columbia; however, we do have more languages we can provide. Please contact us to find out whether we can provide the survey in your primary language if it is not included.

Please note, this means that once you complete the survey, the information cannot be linked back to you. We will not be tracking any personal information, such as IP addresses, and location services within SurveyMonkey have been turned off. Therefore, all data that is provided will be aggregated or group numerical data with no identifying information. Please contact us if you have any concerns about this or want to ask any questions ahead of time. We are happy to discuss this with you.
