The Bedeque Bay Environmental Management Association (BBEMA) is a not-for-profit, charitable organization governed by a Board of Directors that broadly represents the citizens of the area and its resource-based industries. The Bedeque Bay Watershed area is comprised of six smaller sub-watersheds:

  1. Sunbury Cove
  2. The Wilmot River
  3. The Dunk River
  4. The Bradshaw River
  5. Seven Mile Bay/Salutation Cove
  6. Schurman's Point

BBEMA's mission is "to provide sustainable environmental opportunities for the people of the Bedeque Bay Watershed, to conserve and enhance their watershed through planning, education, projects and partnerships."

BBEMA is in the process of reviewing its current strategic management plan and developing a strategic management plan for the next ten years. The strategic management plan is meant to provide guidance and direction for BBEMA for the next 10 years.
