Back-to-Back Conferences Evaluation

Your Opinion Counts!

In 2009 NatureServe initiated a two-year trial of holding the conservation conference (previously known as the "leadership conference") back-to-back with a regional conference—same week, same facility. The conferences were held within the region scheduled to have the next regional conference. The conservation conference ran 2.5 days, with the 1.75 day regional conference either preceding--for the Northeast (Gettysburg)—or following the conservation conference—for the Southeast (Austin). Field trips took place on the afternoon between the conferences (as well as the Sunday before). In both cases, we selected the facility based on the size and needs of the conservation conference.

As promised, we are now evaluating this configuration to determine if it is fulfilling the purpose of the conferences. Input from everyone in the network—whether you attended either conference or not—is absolutely crucial to our decisions about this component of our network.
