Ideal candidates are emerging and mid-career artists who are committed to their art practice; artists who seek to actively contribute and engage with a collaborative peer community; artists who do not need a dedicated studio space.

Eligible applicants must have proficiency and/or experience working with power tools and fabrication machinery within the last year.

Associate Residency Outline:
1 year membership - $550.00
Woodshop facility annual fee - due upon onboarding - Please note in each from that current fee structures are being evaluated and there may be adjustments made in January.
1 Key Refundable Fob Deposit - $50.00

The Associate Program Provides 24/7 access to Bakehouse facilities, internal opportunities, networking and professional development opportunities (such as but not limited to Open Studio events, exhibition receptions, studio visits with recognized art professionals, internal programming opportunities, artist invitationals, and access to a dedicated staff that regularly communicates with all artists).

The Woodshop facility includes:
Table saw, band saw, drill press, dust vacuum, belt sander and work benches; work tables, air compressor for power tools, spray room.

Artists are required to bring their own materials, basic tools and equipment necessary (nails, glue, wood sheets, etc.).


Qualifying artists must:
- Be based in Miami-Dade County, with a dedicated art practice in the related medium;

- Demonstrate a need and technical proficiency in the related facility they are applying to;
- Commit to a minimum of 25 hours per week on campus at Bakehouse (using the facilities, engaging with the peer community, or participating in ongoing internal programming); working in facility, engaging with the peer community, or participating in ongoing internal programming;
- Demonstrate a genuine interest in community engagement;
- Must not be currently enrolled in an associate degree or undergraduate bachelors degree.

Accepted membership applicants must pay the Membership fee, complete the orientation process with the residency program coordinator, and attend and onboarding session with the facility manager and pay their facility dues before beginning their associate membership and using the facilities.

15. I understand that access to the CNC Shop Bot access is a separate tier of Wood shop access, and requires additional dues in addition to a scheduled onboarding course. CNC onboard courses are offered on a quarterly basis.
