The Bay Area Arts Readiness Network (BAARN) is conducting this survey to understand better the diverse ways individual artists and arts nonprofits in our region are preparing for emergencies and disasters.

Readiness can take different forms depending on your role, available resources, and the community context. Whether you already have a disaster or continuity plan, are in the process of creating one, are covered by a larger entity’s plan, or have not yet begun, your input is essential.

By learning more about the plans, tools, and support you have—or the challenges and needs you face—we can develop resources, training, and strategies that are responsive to the realities of Bay Area artists and organizations. If you make something, it’s important to protect it—whether your creative work is full-time or part-time, professional or avocational.

This survey will help us identify gaps, highlight strengths, and build a stronger, more resilient arts ecosystem that protects the people and practices that give so much to our communities.

Survey results will be kept anonymous and reported only in aggregate to highlight trends, needs, and resources across the Bay Area arts ecosystem.
