Expression of Interest Form: Alopecia UK Webinar

Thank you for your interest in taking part in an Alopecia UK webinar. This short form helps us understand which topic you may be a good fit for, what perspective you could bring, and what support you might need if selected.

What kinds of experiences are we hoping to include?
We are not looking for one “perfect” story or one particular viewpoint. For each topic, we hope to include a mix of experiences so the discussion reflects the variety within the alopecia community.

  • Can Stress Cause Hair Loss? We would like to hear from people who noticed hair loss during or following a stressful period; people who believed stress may have been a factor (or not a factor but were told it was), whether or not this was confirmed; people who have experienced the emotional impact of hair loss; people who have found ways to manage stress or uncertainty.
  • JAK Inhibitors: Who Can Get Them and How? We would like to hear from people who are receiving JAK inhibitors through the NHS or privately; people who have seen hair regrwoth or those that have seen little to no growth; people who were not eligible; people who decided against treatment; people with different experiences of benefits, side effects, access or decision-making.
  • My Child Has Alopecia: How Do We Decide About Treatment? We would like to hear from parents and carers who chose treatment; parents and carers who decided not to; families whose child helped make the decision; young adults willing to reflect on decisions made when they were children.
  • Trichologist or Dermatologist: Who Should I See? We would like to hear from people with different diagnosis and support journeys, including those who saw a GP, trichologist, dermatologist or more than one professional, and those who experienced delays, uncertainty or helpful support.

We want our panels to reflect a broad range of experiences across the alopecia community, including importantly a wide range of hair loss types. We may not be able to include everyone who registers interest, but we may contact people about future opportunities if they are happy for us to keep their details.
