The City of Atkinson Economic Development office is working to collaboratively create a plan to enhance the community. We believe we can achieve the best future for the Atkinson community working together as one using the Entrepreneurial Communities Activation Process (ECAP). ECAP helps communities support innovation and entrepreneurship by understanding their unique characteristics, community assets and potential opportunities.

Our first step in this planning process is to gather information from you through this survey. The survey is conducted by Nebraska Extension with the assistance of the Atkinson team.
Everyone is encouraged to complete the survey by April 9.
We are asking individuals to participate in the survey who live in or near Atkinson or who work in, shop or frequent Atkinson. Your input is important and valued. Through your input, we will be able to identify ways the community can move toward positive change and better understand our unique characteristics, community assets and potential opportunities. In addition, you will see several specific questions that relate to proposed projects, business and involvement that we would like your opinion on as well.

You can help us by taking 15 - 20 minutes to share your opinions about Atkinson. Your answers are completely confidential. Your responses will be gathered by Nebraska Extension personnel and will be shared only as summaries in which no individual’s answers can be identified. Survey highlights will be presented at an upcoming community event on April 27.

Feel free to ask questions concerning the survey and have those questions answered before agreeing to participate. You may contact the community members listed below.  Your input is important to establishing priorities for our community as we move forward.
We look forward to working with you. If you have questions about this initiative, please contact Amanda Sindelar at
