Priority Setting Exercise for surgical trainees and medical students interested in surgery

The Association of Surgeons in Training (ASiT) is undertaking a priority-setting exercise to understand what surgeons and medical students interested in surgery believe are the most important factors for achieving a rewarding career in surgery. This work builds on recent findings from the Medical Training Review, which highlighted the key drivers of career satisfaction for resident doctors across the UK.

Your views will help ASiT advocate more effectively for improvements in surgical training, working conditions, and long-term career sustainability. Please rate the importance of each domain based on your own experience and what you feel matters most for a fulfilling career in surgery. The survey is anonymous, and your contribution will directly inform ASiT’s policy, training and workforce priorities for the coming years.
