Are you working to address green competencies in higher arts education? The
ELIA Arts & Ecology Working Group invites you to share details of a project, initiative, or activity using a concise case study template.
By sharing an example from your institution, you will help us to showcase the diversity of arts and ecology initiatives already being used across the ELIA membership; identify shared challenges and opportunities; and start to establish the ELIA Arts & Ecology community.
Rather than only collecting best practices, we value transparency about the challenges, frictions, and failures encountered in this work. Our goal is not to compile a comprehensive overview but to build a community of practice — a network where institutions can learn from one another, avoid reinventing the wheel, and accelerate the integration of green competencies across higher arts education.
The examples will be published on the ELIA website and will form a knowledge base to inform future events organised by the Working Group, including a dedicated session at the ELIA Biennial 2026.
About the Arts & Ecology Working Group The ELIA Arts & Ecology Working Group was established to foreground peer exchange and foster eco-responsibility awareness and action within the Higher Arts Education sector and beyond. Our main goal is to support ELIA members by facilitating knowledge exchange, promoting good practice strategies and initiatives, and sharing experiences. This call relates to one of our two focus areas: Integrating Green Skills, Competencies, and Ecocritical Thinking into Curricula and Arts (Education) Practices.
