9.Overdose prevention services are uniquely positioned as a low-barrier point of introduction to health and/or social services for people with substance use issues. These sites, which are frequently integrated into existing social service settings, provide on-site monitoring for people using pre-obtained substances to allow for rapid response when an overdose occurs.

Alpha House has been asked by the Alberta Government to explore adding an overdose prevention site to our existing Shelter and Detox facility to support greater recovery-oriented outcomes for individuals struggling with addiction? Is this something you would support?
