Our agency provides services with three different levels of caregivers:
  • Nursing services provided by a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • Certified Nurse's Aide (CNA) services
  • Personal Care Attendant (PCA) services
We are licensed by the State of Illinois.  The State has defined regulations on the type of service that can be provided by each different level of caregiver.  Answers to the questions below will give us a better understanding of the service needs for your family.

* 6. Would you be interested in our caregivers accompanying the client to appointments?  
AHHC staff cannot transport clients but instead may assist in arranging for medical, senior or public transportation in order to accompany a client to appointments.  Transportation by a client family member or friend is also allowed.

* 7. Is the client able to give direction to our caregivers regarding any assistance with transfers needed?  
AHHC's state license requires that if a client is unable to give direction on the procedure for transfers, care cannot be provided by a PCA due to the limited training and education of this level of caregiver.

* 8. If the client needs assistance with transfers, what is the approximate weight of the client?  
AHHC's safety policy requires any transfers of clients over 50lbs require a two person lift or use of a hoyer lift or ceiling lift.

AHHC's state license requires that if a client is at an increased risk of choking while eating, care cannot be provided by a PCA due to the limited training and education of this level of caregiver.

AHHC has a minimum shift length of 4 hours per shift.   Service can be as many or as few days per week as needed.

AHHC works with DSCC, DORS and various insurance companies for payment of services.  If no 3rd party funding sources are available we will bill the family directly for services provided.  AHHC offers a 10% discount for any veteran or spouse of a veteran.
