Age-friendly communities |
Community input and innovative ideas are invited
An age-friendly community enables people of all ages to actively participate in community life; ensuring older people are free from age-related barriers that prevent community participation. Over three years from 2017-18, $1 million per annum will be made available by the Queensland Government to seed fund community projects involving partnerships with local government and other organisations to co-develop, implement and promote innovative age-friendly projects.
To help Council develop a funding application to the Advancing Queensland: an age-friendly community grants program, community input and innovative ideas are invited for projects focusing on two to three age-friendly domains of the eight domains identified by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
