Employee Medical Plan for Contractors

San Diego AGC’s Employee Medical Plan is designed to help employers attract and retain skilled employees, both administrative and hourly. Think of it as one more tool in your arsenal to remain competitive.

This long-established group Plan, which currently covers more than 1,500 individuals, offers employers a high degree of freedom of choice and cost-saving options. Several differing programs are available under the Plan.

Your company is eligible to join the Plan if it is a member of Associated General Contractors of America, San Diego Chapter Inc., holds an active contractor's license, and is actively engaged in construction.

Benefits Plus for Contractors & Affiliates
With Benefits Plus, San Diego AGC offers a comprehensive menu of benefits for construction contractors, affiliate members, and contractors performing work on federal facilities under the Service Contract Act.

The Benefits Plus Medical Plan gives employers a high degree of freedom of choice and cost-saving options, with several differing programs being available under the Plan. These include medical coverage tailored to meet the needs of San Diego AGC affiliate members who are non-contractor providers of construction-industry products and services, as well as the needs of construction contractors whose prevailing wage work does not exceed 15% of their annual earnings. Programs have been designed especially for SCA contractors as well.

Employers may choose to offer their employees all of the UnitedHealthcare HMO and PPO plans. Employers with 50 or more benefit-eligible employees may choose to offer Kaiser HMO as well, alone or alongside the UnitedHealthcare programs.

In addition to offering medical coverage, Benefits Plus provides an exceptional array of ancillary benefits that are available to construction contractors (with no restrictions regarding prevailing wage work), SCA contractors, and affiliate members. These benefits include dental plans, vision, chiropractic, life and dependent life coverage.
