I am writing to urge the restoration of the City of Philadelphia’s financial support for the African American Museum in Philadelphia. Although I am not a resident of Philadelphia, I am a patron of the museum who values its exhibits and programs. Its representation of African American history and culture is crucial to the education of our children and unity of our larger society. The City of Philadelphia should be proud to support a museum that is dedicated to enlightening residents and visitors alike about African Americans' crucial contributions to America’s history and culture.
