Exciting news!
Starting on July 1, 2021, Virginians, enrolled in Medicaid, and who are 21 years old and older, can get dental benefits! These dental benefits will be available through the Smiles For Children program. The benefits include:
Cleaning;
Exams;
Fillings;
Root canals;
X-rays; and
Anesthesia.
Braces and bridges are not covered.
We’d like to give Medicaid a starting point for outreach to dentists who are already serving individuals with specialized needs and/or who are Medicaid members (even if the dentist does not currently contract with Medicaid for the existing limited adult dental benefits.)
Please complete the following information for each dental provider with whom you work, or who you know provides services to adults:
