Registry of Adaptation Practitioners

Thank you for your interest in applying to the Registry of Adaptation Practitioners!

The Registry is designed to connect climate adaptation service providers and communities who need support with adaptation. An adaptation service provider is an organization that focuses on helping communities prepare for the impacts of climate change. All organizations in the Registry, regardless of the type of services that they provide, must demonstrate that they are sought out for the adaptation expertise that they provide and that the services they offer are intentional about incorporating consideration of climate impacts and proactively addressing them.

Who Should Apply: Applications to the Registry should be on behalf of an organization, with the express consent of that organization. Please note that here we are using the term organizations to apply to any entity that provides adaptation services to communities, which may include government agencies, non-profit organizations, consulting firms, programs associated with academic institutions, and sole proprietors or individual consultants, among others. Climate adaptation teams or divisions within a larger organization should apply on behalf of that specific team rather than for the organization as a whole. Similarly, a team based in a regional or state office within a larger organization should apply on behalf of the team in that location.

Notes on the Application: The application questions are designed to elicit the information that the Registry team needs to evaluate the organization's adaptation expertise and understanding of best practices in the field. Please provide as much information as possible on the online application, using the recommended word count as a guide to the level of detail we will require to evaluate your application.

If your organization is accepted to the Registry, your application answers will also be used to populate your organization's public profile that will be visible to those seeking your services, so ensure that your application answers reflect the level of professionalism and expertise that you want to portray to the wider adaptation community.
