ACS Notifications, Claims and Settlements Form Background & PurposeThe Australian Computer Society (ACS) operates a national professional standards scheme (PSS) under the Professional Standards Act 1994 (NSW) and professional standards legislation in all other Australian states and territories.This form is to be completed by participating CP members of the ACS PSS who are seeking to notify or update ACS on a new or existing notification, claim or settlement. Purpose of the Form The professional standards legislation requires ACS to collect, monitor and analyse data on Professional Indemnity (PI) insurance notifications, claims and settlements in relation to ACS PSS participants' professional services. The PSC requires ACS to identify and report, as soon as practicable, on being notified of any claim or notification which may breach, or breaches, the liability cap of $2 million. To enable ACS to do this, all PSS participants must let ACS know if they become aware of any circumstance that is a notification, claim or settlement against them/their organisation in relation their tech professional services.
