Overview of Program

Listen, Learn, Lead

The purpose of the Early Career K-12 CTO Academy is to help new technology directors succeed by enhancing their understanding of edtech leadership and make a positive impact on student-centered, digital learning. This blended learning model is targeted for early career K-12 chief technology officers (CTOs) who have a unique set of challenges and needs. Our goal is to help them address these challenges and find practical solutions that they can use now and throughout their careers. This program is developed in collaboration with Dell Technologies.

Participants in CoSN's Early Career K-12 CTO Academy will benefit from:

1) A three-day intensive workshop discussing practical strategies to help early career K-12 CTOs succeed and thrive. A newly-developed curriculum focuses on supporting student-centered learning, technology budgeting, strategies for infrastructure, communications, and more. The workshop will be held July 21-23, 2020 in Santa Clara, CA.

2) Six online meetings following the workshop to examine in-depth, topics selected by the cohort.

3) An experienced and proven edtech leader who will serve as a thought partner and mentor.

4) A capstone project that each participant will work on throughout the process with his/her thought partner. Select capstones will be featured at the 2021 CoSN Annual Conference in Austin, TX.
