Program Information

The Child Health Innovative Research Program (CHIRP) at the Sanford School of Medicine and Sanford Research will provide foundational research training in clinical and biomedical sciences to medical students. The ultimate goal of the CHIRP is to help meet the future needs of health-related research by contributing to the development of physicians who will be well-prepared to use evidence-based medicine in practice and contribute to translational research.

Any medical student is eligible and we encourage diverse students (including underrepresented minorities, first-generation college students, individuals from lower income backgrounds, rural students, and Veterans or members of the Armed Services) as well as students from institutions with limited research opportunities to apply.

Late applications will not be considered and all information is due by March 1, 2022.
