Denali Summer Science Academy is a four-day camp for high school students entering 10th-12th grade. This camp is a partnership program between Alaska Geographic and the National Park Service through the Murie Science and Learning Center. Based at the Riley Creek Campground at the entrance area of Denali National Park and Preserve, groups will take daily trips into the park to hike and learn from park scientists.

To build future leaders of our communities and stewards of our public lands, NOW is the time to engage young, innovative minds in addressing the challenges of the future. We find unique and amazing youth through adult nominators who know and work with them already – that’s where you come in. A nominator can be anyone outside of the student’s immediate family. Students that complete an application and have a nominator submit the following form will have a better chance of getting selected for one of our two sessions for summer 2017.

* 1. Nominator Contact Information

* 2. Name of the student you are nominating:

* 3. In what capacity do you know the student you are nominating?

* 4. Why should this student be considered for the opportunity to attend Denali Summer Science Academy?

* 5. This program aims to recruit a diverse and highly motivated group of students for each session. Please specify how this student meets our recruitment criteria below.  PLEASE NOTE that a student does not need to meet all of these criteria to be accepted into the program.

* 6. Does this student have any challenges (academically or socially) that our instructional staff would benefit from knowing about in advance?

* 7. Any additional comments?
