The OARSI Board has charged a new Task Force to convene this spring to address ways in which the organization can promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in its membership and activities. We are interested in identifying a diverse group of volunteers -- with respect to gender, age, geographic location, and scientific focus -- to join the Task Force. We especially encourage Early Career Investigators to apply. The Task Force will meet by videoconference three or four times between March and June 2022, for about an hour each meeting. The goals of the Task Force are to:
  • Assess aspects of OARSI membership, activities, processes, and committee and leadership structures where there appear to be deficits in diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Propose remedies to these deficits
  • Outline a work plan and timeline to achieve these remedies
  • Present these recommendations to the Board for implementation
