Thank you for registering your interest with the VBA to assist consumers with detached permits. For your information:
- The Detached Permits Building Surveyor Register will publish the name, business and contact details of building surveyors on the VBA website. The VBA will invite consumers with detached permits to access the register and contact a suitable building surveyor.
- Providing your details does not imply that you or your business would be obliged to assist all consumers who contact you in need of a building surveyor.
- Building surveyors applying to participate in the register must ensure that they have the capacity and capability to assist owners with detached permits.
- In the interest of collaborating with the private industry to resolve detached permits, the VBA will regularly monitor and update the register to ensure that a list of active participants is available to consumers.
- Owners will still be required to apply to terminate their existing building surveyor and appoint a new building surveyor and the register imparts no obligation on the owner to use building surveyors listed on the register.
