What is a zoning overlay?

A zoning overlay is a tool the City can use to add other standards or requirements to a specific area

Some cities use overlays to preserve manufactured home communities. The overlay allows the cities to keep using the land for this type of housing.

NOTE: A zoning overlay says how land may be used in the future. It does not control lot rents, home sale prices, or other housing-related costs.
