Alliance for Nonprofit Management - Membership Overview


Overview
Thank you for your interest in joining the Alliance for Nonprofit Management's Board of Directors. 
 
The Alliance is looking for up to five board members to replace departing board members leaving at the end of 2018.  The Alliance is looking for future board members who will bring one or more of the following skill sets to complement the existing skills board members’ skills and provide leadership to meet the future strategic needs of the Alliance:

Skillset #1: Association management and leadership of national membership organizations
Skillset #2: Marketing and communications expertise to fuel member recruitment and engagement
Skillset #3: Connection with national foundations supporting capacity building and grant development experience
Skillset #4: A research leader or pracademic who can enhance the Alliance’s research-to-practice model and facilitate bridges to the academic community
Skillset #5: Experience with the Alliance’s Affinity and Interest Group structure and efforts
 
We strive for geographic representation. We are particularly looking to expand our board membership from the Midwest, Mountain states, and West Coast.

As the Alliance is a working board, individuals will need to be able to work within a virtual structure and be comfortable with the variables associated with small but growing organizations with expanding membership needs.  Emotional intelligence, collegiality, and a hard-working, “roll-your-sleeves-up” approach are the personal characteristics sought for this exciting board opportunity. Ideally, individuals joining the board will immediately take leadership roles in our committee structures in 2019.

Election Process
If you are interested in applying, please fill out the remainder of this survey (i.e. the application). The information you provide here we will be used (unless otherwise specified) to create a profile that will be presented on the election ballot for membership consideration. Here are a few important dates to remember:
  • November 21 - Call for board candidate applications will be closed. 
  • November 26 - December 7 - Interview with candidates 
  • December 7 - The ballot will be assembled and provided to the membership.
  • December 21 - All ballots must be completed and submitted.
  • January 18 - Incoming directors will be notified.
