The Rick Geller Memorial Scholarship is an award of $1,000 dedicated to supporting the professional development of individuals and is open to employees of member companies of the Manitoba Trucking Association, eligible recipients can apply for this Scholarship.
It was created in honor of Rick Geller, a visionary and passionate leader in shaping transportation risk management programs in Manitoba, Rick Geller Memorial Scholarship is supported by the Associated Trades Division of the Manitoba Trucking Association as a beacon of support and encouragement for aspiring professionals within the trucking industry, facilitating their journey towards personal and professional career success.
This scholarship provides financial assistance for professionals pursuing post-secondary education or professional development. Applicants can be attending or planning to attend university, college, apprenticeship, private vocational institute, distance learning, or continuing education. The scholarship may be used to meet such expenses as tuition or books.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants Must:
- Reside in the Province of Manitoba - Be an employee of a member company of the Manitoba Trucking Association
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Complete the application form in full. One to three letters of recommendation from, for example employer or professional body. A letter of intent which would include but not be limited to information on current and planned studies, transportation career goals, financial need, interests in the field and the reason for applying for this scholarship.
SELECTION:
The Scholarship recipient will be chosen by Rick Geller Scholarship selection committee. The selection committee will review all applications and announce the award recipient in August.
