1.
Primary Nurse Planner
Tara Parvathaneni - PNP
I have been a Nurse Practitioner since 2019 when I graduated with my DNP from Missouri State University. I first became a nurse after graduating from Harding University with my BSN in 2013. My nursing background includes inpatient cardiology and hospital administration. I have been working as a Nurse Practitioner for the past 2 years at Mercy Hospital Springfield in Inpatient Neurology. I hold several certifications including Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse, Stroke Certified Registered Nurse, & Emergency Neurologic Life Support. I have a passion for education and teaching other nurses, I continue to assist in educational classes for new RN/LPNs at Mercy to help improve their knowledge of neurology. Fun fact, my favorite hobby is event planning, I love to host and throw parties, it brings me joy.
2.
President Elect
Stephanie McGarity – President Elect
My name is Stephanie McGarity, I have been a RN since 2007 & NP since early 2019. I have been working in an outpatient palliative care role since May 2019. I have 2 kids ages 12 & 8, 2 dogs & a cat. In my time away from work I enjoy spending time with my children & family, hiking, napping, & finding new adventures when possible.
I am interested in the role of President Elect because I would like to be more involved with APNO & in my role as a NP.
3.
Student Representative
Erika Meyer – Student Representative
I’ve been a nurse since 2015 when I graduated with my BSN from Missouri State. I then worked at Cox South hospital on the neuro/ortho floor and was charge nurse at times. I did that for 4 years and then left and started working at The Arc of the Ozarks working with individuals with disabilities. I started grad school in 2020 to pursue my MSN-FNP back at MSU. I then became prn at the Arc and started working at Mercy on their Neuro/ortho floor and I’m still currently working there. I’ve been involved in APNO for almost a year, and attended the APNO conference last month. I will graduate in May of 2023 with my FNP.

Secretary
Amanda Bergman – Secretary
I am excited for the opportunity to serve again as secretary for APNO. I was attending APNO meetings as a student and still attending as a practicing nurse practitioner, and now on the board! I am a first-generation college student with 3 degrees. I got a bachelor's degree in biology at Drury, Nursing degree at Saint Louis University, and my MSN at Maryville University. I have spent the last four years working in a busy OB GYN clinic in Springfield, and for the last 3 years I have also worked in hospice PRN. I am very busy but I love what I do! In my downtime I am usually hanging out with my husband and my dog.
