The Alberta Association of Optometrists (AAO) is planning to offer the Office-Based Laser & Minor Surgical Procedures Course between January and March 2027, delivered in partnership with the University of Waterloo.

By bringing this nationally recognized program closer to home with a hybrid format, AAO aims to make advanced clinical training more convenient for members, helping to reduce travel costs and time away from your practice while providing access to high-quality continuing education here in Alberta.

The course includes:

36.5 COPE-accredited CE credits (pending approval)
Self-paced online learning and live virtual instruction between January and February
A 2-day in-person hands-on workshop Calgary during the week of March 16–21, 2027
Final online exam the week of March 22, 2027

The anticipated registration fee range is $2,800–$3,300+GST.
