What do you think about Airbnbs, VRBOs, home-sharing, or tourist homes in Canmore? We want to know.

This is an initial survey to gather preliminary information on a very complex issue. Some of your feedback will be used to inform and shape subsequent public consultation methods that will delve deeper into the issues. ALL of your input will be used create a recommendation for council’s consideration in the spring of 2018.
In May 2015, Town of Canmore councilors directed administration to undertake a public consultation process to see if the Land Use Bylaw should be amended to allow residential dwellings (including houses, condos, etc.) to be used for short-term/tourist home rentals - subject to clear regulations.

As part of the public consultation process, here is one opportunity to provide input into whether short-term rentals (including tourist homes, Airbnbs, VRBOs, etc.) should be allowed throughout the community, and if so, what rules should be created to ensure the integrity of the neighbourhood is maintained.

Thank you for participating! If you have any other feedback you’d like to provide, you can email us at planning@canmore.ca
