In the third party system (WSIB, Auto, EHC) many carriers are now asking providers to use hourly rates instead of procedure codes. Presently, the OCA Recommended Fee Schedule has an hourly rate range. We are in the process of reviewing the hourly rate. Please provide any comments you have that we should consider in determining the hourly rate?

The present OCA Recommended Fee Schedule includes some specialized treatment/assessments performed by chiropractors. From time to time new techniques/devices and assessments tools become available. Listing all of these is difficult and the OCA is determining the best way to manage this.
Any new techniques/services/assessments that are taught at a CCE accredited college and require specialized equipment or time to provide care beyond a typical chiropractic visit.
Only evidence based (peer reviewed) techniques/services/assessments should be included in the fee schedule.
Adding every new technique/service/assessment would be too complicated. Service should be categorized in to high level services (i.e. Soft Tissue Therapy - No specific codes for Graston, ART, Trigenics etc…)
