Microboards Support Initiative - 18 and Under

A Microboard can help families plan for the future in a formal way. Establishing a Microboard reassures families that their loved ones will be cared for by people who truly understand and support them. It requires careful consideration and a proactive approach and we look forward to supporting you on your journey to incorporation!

Application Requirements: Are We Ready?

Families who participate in this initiative must be ready to incorporate:

- Families will have at least five (5) friends/family/community members who know the person well, are unpaid, and who agree to be part of the Microboard.

- The person the Microboard is for must be 18 or under (*If your child is under 21 and still in school, please email us to discuss eligibility).

- Microboard members should be familiar with the person’s life plan and goals.

- Members will have an understanding of the principles and values of a Microboard. You can check out our YouTube channel for a variety of workshops. We'll cover some of this during our time together too!

- There is no cost to participate in this project. Each family is responsible only for the required incorporation application fees and the NUANS corporate name search fee (currently $220), and for purchasing General Liability and Directors & Officers insurance (insurance is highly recommended).

9.Your feedback is an important part of evaluating this project. We encourage all participants to complete both the pre-project and post-project surveys.
10.I acknowledge that this project does not include the costs associated with the incorporation application fee and NUANS corporate name search ($220), or annual General Liability and Directors & Officers insurance (insurance is highly recommended). I understand that these expenses will be my responsibility.(Required.)
