A National Survey of Emerging Screen Practitioners in Australia
This survey was created by emerging screen practitioners, for emerging screen practitioners. It’s an opportunity for the next wave of Australian screen talent - people working hard to build a career in the industry - to share what the journey has really been like.
The survey has been in development since late 2024 with input from emerging practitioners and is informed by academic research, industry reports, and information from screen agency websites, ensuring it is robust and reflects the realities of starting out in the screen industry.
The goal is simple: to help shape better policies, programs, and pathways for emerging talent.

We want to hear about your experiences: the steps you’ve taken, the challenges you’ve faced, and the kinds of support that have genuinely made a difference.
All responses are anonymous (unless you choose to provide your details) and will be combined before being shared with governments and screen agencies. The survey will take around 20 minutes to complete.
