Professional Esport Athlete's Experiences in Healthcare and Physical Therapy for Injury Management

Key Information for You to Consider
• Voluntary Consent. You are being asked to volunteer for a research study. It is up to you whether you choose to participate or not. There will be no penalty or loss of benefits to which you are otherwise entitled if you choose not to participate or discontinue participation.
• Purpose. The purpose of this study is to examine the experiences and attitudes of professional esports athletes when seeking healthcare for injury management.
• Duration. It is expected that your participation will be the time it is needed to complete the survey, which is approximately 10-15 minutes.
• Procedures and Activities. You will be asked to complete a brief survey.
• Risks. There are no foreseeable risks in participation
• Benefits. Although there are no known direct benefits for the participants, the researchers will gain knowledge of the experiences of professional esports athletes in the healthcare system. By gaining this knowledge, it will assist in promoting more targeted research, training and outcomes for injury prevention and rehabilitation for esports professional athletes.
Alternatives. Participation is voluntary, and the only alternative is not to participate.
• Costs and Payment. There are no costs to you for being in this research study. You will not be paid for being in this study.
• Confidentiality. We will not record your name or any information that shows your identity. No personal or identifying information will be collected. The completed survey will be anonymous. We will store your information in ways we think are secure. We will store electronic files in computer systems with password protection and encryption.
• Subject’s Rights. By consenting to be in this study you do not waive any of your legal rights. Consenting means that you have been given information about this study and you agree to participate in the study. If you do not agree to be in this study or if at any time you withdraw from this study, you will not suffer any penalty or lose any benefits to which you are entitled.
